Netscape Navigator

If you want simplicity in the way that you do your web browsing, then Netscape Navigator is the way to go.

Netscape Navigator is the classic rival of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Back in the nineties, these browsers went head to head in cyberspace, in the judicial courts, and in the financial markets. If there were a World War I in the browser wars then this would be it. In the late nineties, Internet Explorer won the war but they did not wipe away Netscape Navigator for good. The latest versions of Netscape Navigator offer tabbed browsing, the ability to browse multiple websites on only one open Netscape Navigator application. Increased security on Netscape Navigator is made possible by pop up blockers, spyware protection, and a security bar that indicates the safety level of a site. One of the best features of Netscape Navigator is its ability to switch browsing engines. You can load sites that are designed for Internet Explorer easily. Simply switch the ActiveX controls on or off as you please. Installing Netscape Navigator is very simple and you will not have any trouble browsing the web with it. Netscape Navigator got the basics right and they intend to keep it this way.

The biggest problem of Netscape Navigator is its dull interface. If you like beautiful things then you might fall asleep while using Netscape Navigator. Opera and Netscape are in entirely different leagues when it comes to aesthetics. Aside from the boring interface of Netscape Navigator, a lot of unnecessary items have to be installed while using Netscape Navigator. Among these are the instant messaging and the media players from America Online. Sometimes having too many media players on your computer causes confusion when loading multimedia items. All in all, if you want simplicity then Netscape Navigator is a good pick. If you want a little more then you should consider the other browsers out there.
