Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is probably one of the most widely-known browsers and with seven versions already out, this is definitely one of the leaders of the pact. Learn about the basics of Internet Explorer so that you can compare its features with other browsers which will be discussed in the next sections.

Internet Explorer is the browser developed by Microsoft Corporation. Right now, it is already on its 7th version. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 has a lot of great features like its ability to have tabbed browsing. You can browse through multiple web pages on one open Internet Explorer 7 application. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 also has security features like anti phishing technology. You will not have to worry too much about hackers spying on your online activity. Microsoft Internet Explorer has been around for quite some time and it certainly has an advantage over the other browsers because of its brand as a Microsoft product and its bundling with the Windows Operating System.

There are some downsides for Microsoft Internet Explorer though. Despite the new anti phishing technology, Microsoft Internet Explorer has always been known to be vulnerable to virus attacks. Right now, the performance of Internet Explorer 7 is still to be determined but history and the past versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer do not have such a good reputation to bank on. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 is also restricting because it will only work with Windows XP users with the second service pack. It is not enough to be using Microsoft Windows XP, you need to have the second service pack installed on your system too.

If you are a hardcore Windows and Microsoft fan then stick to Internet Explorer. Otherwise, you might want to try the other browsers out there.
