Visio templates can provide the ability to jump-start a new drawing by providing the drawing environment most suitable for a specific purpose. Such as an organization can publish to its users a template containing a specific background, font type, logo, etc.
Open a new document based on a template you want to inherit the environment properties from.
Change any settings and styles that you want to associate with the new template.
From the main menu, Select File > Save As.
Specify the template name in the File name text box.
Select Workspace from the dropdown list next to the save button.
In the Save as Type dropdownlist, pick Template(*.vst) and click Save.
