Lay out your Route

The value of knowing where you are, where you have been and where you are going along the road to reaching your personal goals is discussed in this section.

The list of goals should be constantly revised and updated. Do not be so hasty to remove goals you have already completed though. You may wish to keep them separate but keeping them close is a good idea. It is easier to remember where you are going if you can remember where you have already been as well.

Humans are after all, only human; and people make mistakes. There will probably be certain items which are found to be not as easily attained as once thought. These items can be moved back and forth in the list in order of priority so that they remain goals and do not become roadblocks.

Constantly reviewing your goals and objectives and looking at what you have already achieved will have great benefits in the long run. As progression is made, you may find that some goals change, some will become farther distant and some will become much easier to get to than you thought in the past. There is no set order to keep in mind and the only restrictions the individual will have on time are the personal goals that they establish for themselves.

The road map that has been set is not set in stone. The map, like the road to success is an ever-changing and increasing series of small destinations, twists, turns and ever-expanding horizons and views. Fortunately, the scenery also gets better along the way as long as the individual traveling the path is making process.

A careful examination should be made of your stated goals as frequently as possible and at least once a day whenever it is possible to do so. As we have noted already, even when it seems that some goals have already been attained, they will come back and add more to your list.

Knowing where you have been, what you have done and where you are going to will allow you to get there more easily. Keeping a record of everything you have set out to do and done will also help you immensely if you find yourself at a roadblock.

More often than not, these obstacles will be unseen necessities resulting from a previously accomplished goal and can not even always be anticipated. Being prepared is as important as action, but nothing is going to happen at all until you make it happen. The lists will serve as both a positive affirmation of your success and also a detailed report that will tell you where things are beginning to get off track if they do.
