Actions Speak Louder Than Words
You may have a lot of items on your list but if you think that they will just magically happen without you doing anything about it - think again. Taking action is as important as constantly reviewing your goals and motivating yourself.
Sir Isaac Newton’s first law of physics ….. What? This isn’t rocket science? Well, no, it is not, but this still applies. The first law of physics says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Without any action there can be no reaction. Until an individual begins making a concerted effort to reach their own personal goals, success will not even come close to them.
There is no magic formula or short cut to actual success. If you want to make it happen than you can and it is readily possible and even quite probable that you will exceed beyond your own current imagination in short order; as long as you are willing to work for it and make it happen.
Setting up goals requires thinking at first. Indeed, it will be important to keep all of your immediate goals in your thoughts if you are to be truly successful. However, it is also important to work on them individually to try and make all of the small achievements work together for a larger goal and bigger successes as well.
Did you catch that one little four letter word in there? Yes, it will require actual “work” on your part if you are to be successful. While the amount of actual physical work may be intense (If one of your goals is to lose weight or get in better shape perhaps) or not so stressful physically (For someone seeking a promotion at work perhaps) it will still require you to work.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. So it has been said over the years and so it holds true now. Even working for your desired goals will not insure that everything always happens exactly as you have planned it. There are little factors which are known as variables that must be figured into all of the equations in the formulae for success.
It is highly doubtful that there is anyone in this world who can foresee every possible outcome of any given situation and factor in all of the variables involved in order to come up with an optimal solution for each and every difficulty that they will face. That is for any given incident mind you, not even for a single day, but for one single occurrence of one isolated incident.
If there were anyone like that, it is doubtful that they would need any help at all becoming successful, much less needing to find a road map to show them the way. Since it is highly likely that any such person can be discounted, we will concentrate on those of us who are still only human.
Still, setting up your goals must be the first action that you take. It is absolutely pointless to set out for somewhere without knowing where your destination is. If you are set on getting absolutely nowhere, than it is a viable option perhaps. If you intend on actually becoming successful however, it is important to know what you want to be successful at.
Once you have chosen what direction you wish to go in for your success, than it will be possible to set off and actually have a shot at that success. Now that you are ready to actually get started, you will still need to review and revise all of your goals on a regular basis. While getting started on the journey is important, staying on the right track is also imperative for success.
Constantly reevaluate your goals and objectives. Make sure that your immediate goals are not only realistic but attainable as well. Long-term goals will naturally change and evolve over the course of time. This is a natural phenomenon and part of the overall success of the person making those goals. Short-term goals however, should be revised and reviewed on a daily basis whenever that is possible.
Short-term goals are more susceptible to more variables and even more outside influences that can affect day to day objectives. Since these short-term goals are almost all directly related in one way or another to an individual’s long term position and success, it is necessary to constantly update them according to new and increasingly fluid circumstances that occur quite naturally in our every day existence.
In order to avoid the constant roadblocks associated with failure after failure in your quest for success, it will be necessary to constantly review your small goals and adjust them accordingly so that you can begin to actually succeed. As you begin to take action on your planned goals, it will be important to have a string of successes, not only as a constant motivator and positive reinforcement but actually in order to make the bigger goals and successes a possibility and ultimately, a reality as well.
