Action
The fourth step is all about taking positive action so that you can control your dreams, your life, your future and your eventual success.
How many times have you heard about the latest and greatest something for nothing? Casinos sell people on the idea of something for nothing all the time. Many people frequent the casinos actually hoping to get something for nothing too.
So how much money does the casino really give away? They obviously have enough left over to pay for the outrageous electric bill that must accompany all those lights and fancy machines. They have enough left over to provide food and frequently rooms for people. The truth is that they are taking much more than they ever give away.
That is not an attack on the casinos by the way, but almost a note of admiration. They have so completely sold people on the idea of getting something for free that many people will actually spend all of their hard-earned money to get something for free. Nothing is free in this world. Nothing comes easily if it has any value or worth to it.
Even the smallest of goals on your list will have to be turned into reality and success through action. No matter how much people want to glorify the power of positive thought or how we all absolutely deserve to be rich and have everything that we want, the truth of the matter is far different.
The truth is that if you are not willing to work and be responsible on top of that, than you are probably never going to be very successful at anything that you do. That is not to say that there is anything wrong with being one of the masses. That manner of life works quite well for a great number of people. How many of them will ever stand out as truly successful though? If they stood out as truly successful, they would no longer be just one of the masses.
As your goals, priorities and even responsibilities change, you will change along with them. Your plans will have to change in order to better reflect the other changes that are taking place in life. There are many side roads and many detours on the road to success. You will undoubtedly be forced to traverse a great number of them. Always remember the most important part of the journey though; there are no shortcuts to success.
Being successful will require hard work and diligence from anyone who wishes to enjoy its benefits. There is nothing wrong with being a dreamer, but do not let it control your life. Control your dreams, control your life and control your future and your success by taking positive action.
