Slide Layout
One of the points of learning PowerPoint is that it is a way to break the monotony in your presentation. However, without creativity, your visuals might just fall in the same category. Here is a way where you can work around different slide layouts within
The next slide can have a title and a chart.
When you create a new slide you can choose from a number of slides with redefined layouts. These layouts offer you readymade templates with different placeholders, in which you can easily place your text, pictures, and so on. Each slide in your presentation can have a different layout. This layout shows the location of the various placeholders in the slide. After you have chosen a particular slide layout, you can use the Slide Layout option in the Format menu to change the existing layout to another layout.
To use a Bulleted list auto layout:
1. Select Insert > New Slideon the menu bar.
The New Slide dialog is displayed, asking you to select the layout for your second slide.
2. Select Bulleted List Auto Layout > OK.
This will create the second slide, with empty Title and Bulleted List placeholders.
3. Click in the Title Text placeholder and type the text:
HABITS DEFINED
4. Now, click in the Bulleted Text placeholder.
5. In this placeholder, type the following text:
Habit is the intersection of Knowledge, Skills and Desire.
Knowledge is the theoretical paradigm, the what to do and the why.
Skill is the how to do.
Desire is the motivation, the want to do
TIP: Remember to press Enter after each sentence
6. After the text is done, click outside the placeholder to deselect it.
Activity: Create a third slide to give a brief overview about the points that you will be addressing in the later slides. Select the Bulleted List Auto Layout. In the Title placeholder, type the text: EFFECTIVE HABITS FOR EFFECTIVE LIVING”. In the Bulleted Text placeholder, type:
Be proactive
Begin with the End in Mind
Put First Things First
Think win/win
Seek First to Understand, Then to be understood
Synergise
Sharpen the saw
TIP: If you accidentally insert a wrong slide, go to the Edit menu, and select the Delete Slide option. The current slide will be deleted.
