Other Appearance Settings
Here are some more things you can do to change the appearance of your slides.
To Change the Font
1. Click the Title text box to select it.
2. Place the pointer on the box's border, and click again.
The insertion point disappears, indicating that the entire text box is selected.
3. Select Format > Font.
The Font dialog box appears.
4. In the Font style list, click Bold; in the Size list, click 36; and in the
colour list, choose green.
5. Click OK.
The font dialog box closes.
6. The text in your title box is now green, bolded, and a font size of 36.
To Select a New Bullet style
1. Click anywhere in the bulleted text to select it.
2. Select Format > Bullet.
The Bullet dialog box will appear.
3. Click the square bullet in the symbol grid.
4. If you want, select a new colour for the bullet in the colour list box.
5. Click OK.
6. The new bullet style will appear in your bulleted text.
Changing your Background
1. Select Format > Background on the menu bar.
The Background dialog box will appear.
2. In the Background fill section, click the arrow on the list box to open it.
3. Click More colours to open the colours dialog box.
4. In the colours section, click any colour that you like.
5. Click OK.
The colours dialog box closes.
6. In the Background dialog box, click the Preview button to see a preview of the slide colour.
7. If you like what you see, click the Apply button.
The background colour of the current slide will have changed.
8. To add the background colour to all the slides, click the Apply to all buttons.
Changing the background pattern
1. Select Format > Backgroundon the menu bar.
The Background dialog box appears.
2. Click the Background Fill list box, and click Fill Effects.
The Fill Effects dialog box will appear.
3. Click the Pattern tab, and then click the pattern you want in the Pattern box.
A preview of the pattern will appear in the Sample box.
4. Select new background and foreground colours of the pattern from the background and Foreground drop down lists.
5. Click OK.
The Fill Effects dialog box closes.
6. In the Background dialog box, click the Apply button.
Tip: When you create a presentation, it's important that you do not overuse the design features. If you use too many fancy colors, fonts, clipart or backgrounds, not only will your slides look gaudy and amateurish, your audience may end up paying more attention to the design of your presentation as opposed to the content. So select your colors with care. Two slides one a sober professional-looking slide and the other a slide containing too many formatting features are shown below)
