What’s on a Screen?
1. Title Bar: Right on top of the screen is the Title bar. It displays the name of the presentation of the currently active PowerPoint presentation. Like other Windows applications, it can be used to alter the size and location of the Window.
2. Menu Bar: is located directly below the Title bar. It displays the menus such as File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, Slide Show, Window, and Help. All the commands in PowerPoint are contained in the Menu Bar which are categorised into nine main menu headings as shown in the graphic above.
When a menu name is selected, a drop-down list of options is displayed. Move the mouse to highlight the desired command and click the mouse button to activate the command. e.g for viewing/editing/running a PowerPoint presentation you have to click on the menu slideshow and then on the desired command
3. Toolbars: PowerPointhas a number of tool bars that help you perform tasks faster and with great ease. Two of the most commonly tool bars are the Formatting toolbar and the Standard toolbar. These two toolbars are displayed just below the title bar. You can turn them ON or OFF through the toolbar option of View menu

4. Scroll Bars: The horizontal scroll bar is used to move the view of the slide horizontal. The vertical scroll bar is used to move the vertical view of the slide in addition to moving the different slides.
5. View Buttons: The view buttons are used to quickly switch between the different views available like the Normal, Slide Sorter, Notes Page and Slide show.
6. Status Bar: The Status Bar at the bottom of the page, displays information about the currently active presentation, such as the slide number where you are working, etc.
7. Workspace: The Workspace is the area in the presentation where youenter/type the text and the graphics for the slides of your presentation. This is also the area where you would be able to modify or change elements in an existing presentation.
