Working with Text

Though Photoshop is primarily an image editing program, many people have realized the importance and the need to use text with the program. Many text options are included in Photoshop some of them simple and some complex.

In This Chapter:

Creating Text
You don't need to create a new layer to add text. When you begin to type a new text layer will be created automatically. To create text in Photoshop choose the text tool from the tool palette.
Formatting Text
Photoshop allows you to edit many attributes of your text. You can change the font size, style, color, alignment and even the scaling.
Formatting Paragraph Text
In Photoshop you can define the formatting aspects of an area for multiple line of text. The lines will break automatically and the text will wrap to fill the space you allocate. Photoshop can handle text and can really hold its own.
Text Warp and Typing on a Path
Text Warp is similar to Word and is a fun and useful tool used to create interesting curves and waves that the text will follow.
