Today most of the major
motion pictures incorporate the use of effects in Photoshop. In almost every

used in creating it. Photoshop is being used
everywhere in the design and entertainment industries due to the flexibility
and the ability of Photoshop to manipulate images with the use of native and
third party filters.
In This Chapter:
- Filters
- Filters change the texture, shape, form or color of images. Filters can sharpen or blur an image or they can be used for complex manipulation, such as lightening effects and distortion.
- Using Filters
- Photoshop comes with a range of filters. A little experimentation and some time playing around with the filters will go a long way in achieving interesting results. You can also using combination of various filters.
- Liquify Filters
- This is the most fun tool in Photoshop which can do some weird things to your images.
- Other Filters
- Let us see the effects of the other filters such as Artistic, Blur, Brush strokes, Distort, Noise, Pixel ate etc.
- Layer Effects
- Layer effects add dimension and special effects to the layers. You can easily apply these effects and these are not limited to a single effect. You can save these to a library and recall them later. Layer effects do not work on a backgrounds or flattened images. You have to start with an active layer to apply the effect.
- Layer Styles
- Layer styles are using two or more effects together. You can use the layer styles for later use which will save time and the trouble to recreate each effect every time you want to use it.
