osCommerce - Introduction
Overview of Oscommerce
Another great source for free ecommerce software is osCommerce . This option is used by many people because it is fairly robust and very customizable! We'll walk through an example of setting up your site with oscommerce. This assumes you already have your web hosting and domain, and you will be adding oscommerce to your site from scratch (a site that hasn't been started yet). Below is a screenshot of both the catalog as well as the admin panel that you use to customize oscommerce. The catalog:

To download oscommerce, visit Downloads. The version used in this example is osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update 060817. You will definitely want to download the instructions as well, which are included on the same download page. The instructions are fairly clear, and there is a large community wherein you can get help on any questions or problems you have including customizing and adding functionality: Forums. You can also see some live shops that use oscommerce here.
Once you have downloaded the .exe file for oscommerce, you will want to unzip it to a directory. You will probably want to create a new directory specifically for your site.
