On choosing the e-commerce system that will be used on your online store
If you didn't choose a hosting company with ecommerce, there are many options for you, many that are free! A really great one is Commerce CGI. It allows you to add payment gateways and is very easy to use, allowing you to customize your site design, add as many categories as you'd like, and as many products as you like! There are also add-ons for things such as wish lists and coupons. Because of the variance in all the cart choices, this document won't go into detail about how to install the cart or specifics. Each one will have instructions on how to install them, if installation is not included. Below is an example of a site with a Commerce CGI cart. The cart is what creates the categories on the left hand side, the product descriptions, pictures, price and any other information you would like to include as well as the links to add to cart and checkout.
