Outlook Today
This guide will shoe you how to customize your Outlook Today page according to your preferences.
The Outlook Today page provides a preview of your day. You can see a summary of your appointments, a list of your tasks, monitor the current e-mail messages. You can set this page to be the first page that opens when you start Outlook.

What is Outlook today?
- The Outlook today gives a quick glimpse of the daily events.
- The calendar lists the events for the next several days, shows you the current e-mail message situation.
- It provides a list of pending tasks.
The checkboxes next to the tasks signify the status of the tasks. When you check one the task is crossed off.
You can customise Outlook to suit your requirements. You can:
- Set it up as the default opening screen in Outlook,
- Add other e-mail folders.
- Change number of days in the Calendar.
- Control the tasks list and so on.
To customise Outlook on the Go menu, click Shortcuts.
In the Navigation Pane click Outlook Today.
Click the Customize Outlook today button on the Outlook today page.
To change the number of appointments that appear select the number of days to display the no of appointments that take place within this time span. These appointments will appear on the Outlook Today page under Calendar. Click Save Changes.
To Change the background and layout select the option in the Show Outlook Today in this style list. The graphic below the list shows how the Outlook Today page will appear. Click save changes.
To change the Tasks that appear select the option in the tasks and click save changes.
To change the e-mail folders click Choose folders in the message area, Select the check box next to the folder you want to display. Click save changes.
To sort the task list click the option in the Sort my task list by list and for the second criteria by the in the Then by list. Click save changes.
To make Outlook today the default page select the When starting, go directly to Outlook Today check box in the start up area. Click save changes
