You can customize how Outlook displays information for you and set your personal preferences.
With Outlook you can add, remove and customize toolbars like in any other office application.
To customize Outlook Today, click the Customize Outlook today button in the upper right corner of the Outlook Today window. The window pops up. Let us see the different options available.
- Start-up: Click the checkbox to go directly to Outlook Today every time you launch MS Outlook.
- Messages: Click to display messages from your Inbox, drafts or Outbox folder.
- Calendar: Click to display between 1 and 7 days of the Calendar by choosing from the drop-down list.
- Tasks: Click to select all Tasks or today's Tasks (only incomplete tasks that are due today will be listed).
- Styles: Click to choose between different presentations of Outlook today.
Like any other MS Office application, Outlook places most of its customizing settings on the Tools > Options dialog box and enables you to customize its menus and toolbars.
- Preferences: Offers the basic settings controlling the look of Outlook items and includes options governing contact and journal items.
- Mail Set up and Mail format: Pertains mostly to e-mail.
- Spelling: Has the option for the Outlook spell checker.
- Security: Protects from unauthorised access to mail and sensitive data.
- Other: This tab houses some key Outlook settings.
