Numbered Lists and Bulleted Lists

After aligning the text, Nick reads the article once more. He notices that the gear and equipment for a river-rafting trip is written in a paragraph style. He decides to create a numbered list to make the text crisp and to give the information at one glance. To create a bulleted or numbered list,

1. Take the cursor to the beginning of the first entry in the text, and press Enter.

2. Click Formatting > Bullets and Numbering on the menu bar.

3. Or, click this icon on the toolbar.

4. Press ENTER for every entry. This will create a new bullet or number on the next line.

TIPS:

  1. If you want to start a new line without adding another bullet or number, hold down the SHIFT key while pressing ENTER.
  2. To change the appearance of the numbered list, use the Numbered tab to choose the number style.

To create lists of multiple levels, use the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent buttons on the Formatting toolbar.
