Inserting a Text Box
Text box is a container for text that can be positioned on a page and resized.
With the text for the article well arranged, Nick now looks at the other sections of the newsletter. He sees that he still has to insert a subscription coupon for new members. He decides to put the text for the subscription coupon inside a text box.
To insert a text box,
1.Click Insert > Text Box.
2.Next, click on your layout where you would like to add the text box.
The text box will appear.
To resize the box to fit your text,
1.Click the box on the Drawing toolbar.
2.Drag its sizing handles until it reaches the size you want.
3.Position it by dragging it to the location you want.
But Nick is not happy with the result. The text box looks very bland. How will the readers notice it? He thinks for a while. How about adding color to the text box?
TIP: To maintain the text box's width-to-height ratio, hold down the Shift key while you drag the sizing handles.
To add or fill color to a text box,
2.Click the arrow next to Fill Color, on the Drawing toolbar.
3.Click the color you want.
Activity: On a new page, create the subscription coupon for Footloose Adventure Club in a text box. Don’t forget to include the following fields: Student’s Name, Class, Address, Telephone, Email address, Student’s signature, and Parents’ signature.
