Inserting a Picture
You can insert pictures into your documents from a variety of sources and formats.
Formatting the article is now almost complete. To make text look snazzy, Nick now wants to add some pictures of river rafting to the article.
To add an image from an existing file,
- Select Insert > Picture > From File on the menu bar.
- Locate the picture you want to insert.
- Double-click the picture you want to insert.
To select a clipart image from the Microsoft library,
- Click Insert > Picture > Clipart from the menu bar.
- To find an image, click in the white box following Search for clips.
- Enter keywords describing the image you want to use or click one of the category icons.
- Click once on the image you want to add to the document. A pop-up box will give you the following options:
- Insert Clip to add the image to the document.
- Preview Clip to view the image full-size before adding it to the document. Drag the bottom, right corner of the preview window to resize the image and click the "x" close button to end the preview.
- Add Clip to Favorites will add the selected image to your favorites directory that can be chosen from the Insert ClipArt dialog box.
- Find Similar Clips will retrieve images similar to the one you have chosen.
- After adding the selected images to the newsletter, click the Close button in the top right corner of the Insert ClipArt window.
TIP: You can also drag a picture or other clip from the Clip Gallery to your document.
Activity: Search the sport section in the clipart gallery and insert the image of a boat in your article.
