Using a Database Wizard

The Database Wizard provides the easiest way to create your database. With it, you can generate tables, forms, and reports. Microsoft Access has built-in database templates that will save you a lot of time.

To customize the database template to suit your needs,

  1. Click New on the toolbar.
  2. Click New File > Templates > On my computer.

  1. On the Databases tab, click an icon to choose a database template.
  2. Click OK.

  1. The File New Database dialog box opens.
  2. Specify a name and location for the database.
  3. Click Create.

  1. Follow the instructions on the DatabaseWizard.

STEP-4 Choose a style for printing your report

STEP-5 Specify the database title

STEP-6 Start the database

STEP-7 MS Access builds the database

STEP-8 Use the database

STEP-9 View the database

Note: You can't use the Database Wizard to add new tables, forms, or reports to an existing database.

Using a Template

This is the quickest way to create a database. This method works best if you can find and use a template that very closely matches your requirements.

  1. Click New on the toolbar.
  2. Click NewFile > Templates.
  3. Search for a specific template or click the Templates home page to browse for a suitable template.

  1. Click on the template you want, and clickDownload.
