I have Word 2003 and have been a Word user and teacher for several years. I have two computers each with Word installed each having the same problem. I created a document and formatted text with bold, centering and underlining. Have edited it for several days now and everything was A-OK until today. Now, whenever I highlight a line and choose a formatting feature(i.e.; underlining, centering font size) the entire document is changed. The same problem occurs when I highlight a line but not its ending paragraph symbol. Single words are not affected by this problem. I've tried making similar format changes to an pre-existing document, and all is OK. Tried copying all the text to a new document, but still have the problem. Tried re-installing the original program and all updates, but that didn't work either. What to do?

Badly need your help. Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.
