Exploring Excel
The next step for Sean is to get familiar with the screen. He points out the different elements of the Excel screen.
Title Bar holds the name of the program you are using as well as the filename.
Menu bar holds the drop-down list of commands for the different menus. Look at the menu bar in the Excel window. Most of the menus look familiar except for one, the Data menu.
Click on each of these pull-down menus and look at the available options. While some options look familiar, others might appear new to you.
Formula Bar displays the contents of a cell.
Toolbar displays the shortcut icons for commonly used commands.
Current Position displays what column and row the cursor is in.
Status bar displays information about your document. These include what page the insertion point is on, how many total pages there are in the document, and the line and column position.
