  • You may also want do a search on similar items to the one you are selling, both that are currently listed as well as those that have sold on ebay before. To do this, you will use the same search features as we discussed before. You will need to do another search for completed items only, which uses the same search options except that you will put a check next to the "Completed Listings" box. This will bring up only past items on eBay whose listings have ended.
  • Once you have completed the search you will come up with results that look similar to the picture below. You want to look and see whether similar items sold or not and if so, what they sold for. Browse through both those that did and didn't sell to see what the differences are to avoid the mistakes and get some ideas on which listings look good so you can try and create yours with similar features or look and feel.
    • Look at the Bids column, this shows the final status of the item. For example the first one shows 6 bids, which means it did fairly well. You will see the second listing had 0 bids which means that piece did not sell. You will also see in the Price column either what the item sold for or what the minimum bid the seller was asking was. For example the first item's final selling price was $16.95 with an additional $5 shipping charge. The second item did not sell and the seller put a minimum starting bid requirement of $6.95. Y
    • You may also notice in the Actions column there is a "Sell one like this" link. This is a very easy way to sell a similar item as it will fill in the proper category for you.
