Dispute Resolution

What to do when problems arise

While most transactions go on without any problems, we are all human and sometimes problems do arise. Your first course of action should be contacting the seller.

  • If you do not receive a response from the seller, you have other options available. Underneath the "My Account" link, click on Dispute Console.
  • This will bring up a console that allows you to submit a complaint regarding your purchase. Depending on the issue you are having, click on a link to start the process of dispute resolution.

Some helpful information on dispute resolution:

  • Item Not Received or Significantly Not as Described – Use this process if you paid for an item but didn't receive it, or you paid for and received an item, but it was significantly different from the item description.
  • Unpaid Item – Use this process as a seller if a buyer bought an item but has not paid for it.
  • Mutual Feedback Withdrawal - Use this process to work with your transaction partner to get feedback removed that you think you don't deserved.

Third-party processes

  • Independent Feedback Review – If you received feedback for a motor vehicle transaction that you think is unwarranted, you can request that it to be examined by a neutral reviewer. If the reviewer finds that the feedback violated certain guidelines it will be de-scored.
  • Impartial Mediation – SquareTrade - where you can work out problems, as well as a panel of professional mediators who can help you resolve your dispute.
