Servers

Way back in the first chapter, you learned about the client-server architecture. In this chapter, we will have a review of the concepts and define what a server is and where the difference lies between a server and a PC.

In Chapter 1, you were familiarized with the client-server architecture. You basically learned that clients are those computers that make requests while servers are those computers that service these requests. You were familiarized with the client-server architecture through examples like gamers and gaming servers, ATMs and banking systems, and the like. From Chapters 2 through 8, you learned about the hardware of the computers on the client side of the architecture. In this Chapter, you will learn about the hardware of servers.
