Installing CPU
First, we install the CPU.
In this section, we will go through the process of building your first computer, providing you with a step-by-step process to building your own computer. We will try to give you the necessary information at each step so you can understand why we give these specific directions and safety guidelines. While the pictures describe the building of an Intel based computer, AMD computers are exactly the same. Whatever components you choose, the building process will remain the same, whether it is a home theater PC or high-end gaming computer. Although there is the preconception that a computer is fragile, modern hardware is not easily breakable, PCI-e/hgp/PCI ports are designed to maintain the card in and because of that can be a little tight. Don't hesitate to apply a little force on those components to fit them into the PC . Let us begin!
With an AMD CPU you still need to check if the pins on the back of the CPU are bent. If you buy new chances are this will not be an issue. If you buy a used CPU you want to be sure that everything is aligned before trying to put in the socket. With an INTEL CPU it is a non issue as the pins are on the motherboard and are almost impossible to bend. The CPU by itself is flat and only need to be laid on the pins of the motherboard.
It is nearly impossible to put in the CPU the wrong way. It will not fit. On one of the corners (for AMD CPU) or on both side of it (INTEL CPU) there is a mark is here to tell you where to align it.
Be sure to have the CPU flat inside the socket before lowering the lever to secure it.
